The title refers to a double-coded irony inherent in the machinations of the art trade. From 2003 to 2005, Charles Saatchi had a gallery in the Country Hall in London, an imposing structure which is referenced as a fragment in the centre of the picture. The bridge between fiction and market is thus completed, hence the title refers to the dependency relationship which influences how art is received. |
