Just as in tourist photographs, characterised as they are by a sense of distance, in this picture one can see the creaking room: it is in the centre of the picture at a certain height. The reflection of the tourist eye view is combined with the temporal uncertainty just as photographs often lose their value without details of the date and location. Incorrect or imprecise, vague classifications have become the very trademark of our Googling society; the antithesis of this is the invariably static and proper architecture of the nineteenth century. |
