The grille discernible in the kitchen floor of the ruins of Fountain Abbey in England can be seen here as a ceiling, a perspective which did not exist previously; the grille served merely as an opening through which kitchen waste was thrown into the stream flowing beneath. The fact that one has to take a detour in order to reach your destination, that a descent is necessary in order to find the exit is similar to Tarkowski's film, “Stalker”. |
